Imagine my shock, surprise and pleasure when I stumbled across the Meatloaf Bakery in Lincoln Park on my search for a real Chicago dog. I immediately accepted samples of the Motherloaf and the Turkeyloaf.
After waiting about 20 minutes, I overindulged in the ultimate of comfort foods. A turkey meatloaf cupcake accompanied with cranberry sauce. Thanksgiving dinner, meatloaf, cupcake?!?! Absolutely mind-bogglingly awesome. And delicious! The herb mix is just right with rosemary coming to the forefront and brightening up an otherwise heavy dish.
I can’t think of a more delightfully whimsical and comforting idea for food. I need this in Salt Lake City. The turkeyloaf was moist flavorful and lived up to the hype from Food Network. (That is not something I can say for every establishment featured on the network of food porn.)
I loved the loaf so much I returned hours later with a fellow traveler to revel in the astonishing awesome that is adorably-shaped comfort meat.
