Flower jealousy

As summer is winding down, (rather quickly I might add) I thought I would share some photos of the flora in Korea.

Walking the streets of Chungju, I’m amazed to see the flower boxes overflowing with leaves and petals from beautiful plants. Only once have I seen anyone actually water these things. All plants here grow like weeds. It’s gorgeous and mystifying.

On a quick trip to Cheongju this morning, I was struck by just how similar Korean cities appear to me. I once told Jamie that it’s even easier for me to get lost here because all the streets looking the same. The 10-year lifer said, “Yeah, I know.” In it’s own strange way, Korea seems to have developed a look as similar as that of any suburbia. My personal task is to start finding the differences.
